Games that use dice and the dice themselves date back to the Crusades, but current craps is approximately a century old. Current craps come about from the ancient Anglo game called Hazard. Nobody knows for certain the origin of the game, however Hazard is said to have been created by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s theorized that Sir William’s knights enjoyed Hazard through a blockade on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the citadel’s name.
Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 18th century, when displaced by the English, the French relocated south and found refuge in southern Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns.
